The FBI did not immediately clarify when the latest round of messages began to appear or how recipients were identified, but their emergence comes as The Trevor Project, a nonprofit focused on support and suicide prevention among LGBTQ+ youth, said a third of its crisis calls immediately before and after Election Day were from LGBTQ+ youth who are also racial and ethnic minorities.
