“I’ve never had more respect and love and admiration for Baker than I do right now,” she said. “Ask anybody, he seems like he’s from Cleveland with the amount of love he has for that city, the fans, and this team that has been atrocious for so long. He had so much energy, was literally putting his body on the line and writes a heartfelt letter.”
Mayfield posted the apparent farewell letter to Cleveland last Tuesday — the same day the Browns met with his eventual replacement Deshaun Watson. “I have no clue what happens next, which is the meaning behind the silence I had during the duration of this process,” Mayfield wrote at the time.
