Rugby League: Wigan are Super League champions for the first time since 2018 after a hard-fought 10-2 win over Catalans Dragons in the Grand Final.
The South Sydney Rabbitohs have announced a two-year affiliation agreement with the Townsville Blackhawks.
“We have great respect and admiration for the Townsville Blackhawks. Our clubs share many values and both place the community at the heart of our operations,” he said. “This has proven to be a marker of success at the NRL level of the game and this affiliation agreement will complement the local pathway we have set up in the NSWRL competitions.
Payne will assist new head coach Benji Marshall 19 years after the pair faced off in the 2005 NRL Grand Final.
