Born and raised in South Carolina, Bryson started his career with Moses Dillard and the Tex-Town Display in the 1970s, later signing with Bang Records as a solo artist. His career spanned over five decades, with hits like 'Feel the Fire', 'I'm So Into You', and 'Can You Stop the Rain'. Bryson was also a sought-after duet partner, collaborating with artists like Roberta Flack ('Tonight, I Celebrate My Love') and Natalie Cole.
