“ Russell has a plan, and I don’t know what the exact details of his release of that plan are going to be, I simply wrote the character of Mundy, and she did what she had to do in the story. It was quite important that she be a formidable and kindly person.
With Moffat's comments on the Doctor Who season 14 casting, Sethu may play an entirely new character in season 15. This scenario is not as similar to how Donna Noble and Clara Oswald made surprise debuts before officially joining the TARDIS as full-time companions. Instead, Sethu joins a surprising club of Doctor Who actors who had minor roles in the series before taking major roles, including Peter Capaldi, Colin Baker, Freema Agyeman, and Karen Gillan.
