Every Batman needs a Robin, including the terrifying and unleashed Batman Below. But this dark Robin might spell the end for Gotham City.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary Batman has faced dozens of dark mirrors of himself over the years, but the darkest reflection, the Batman Below, just got his own dark Robin — and the duo could destroy everything. As the Batman Below stalks the streets of Gotham, the Gotham Below grows in power, slowly moving its roots up into the real world, threatening to destroy everything.
Courtesy of gamesradar.com, DC has released a new preview for Batman: City of Madness #2 by Christian Ward and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou. A doorway has been opened far beneath Gotham City, and now no one can stop what's coming through it. From the Gotham Below, the creature known as the Batman Below has emerged. The Batman Below is a Lovecraftian monster and a literal dark reflection of Batman, and now he wants his own dark version of Robin.
This has led the Batman Below to a young boy named Jevoney, who wants justice for his murdered father. With the Batman Below's influence in the real world growing, it's causing the influence of the Gotham Below to grow as well, slowly seeping into the Gotham Above and threatening to destroy the entire city.Gotham Becomes a "City of Madness" in New Preview Batman is a character who inherently thrives on folklore and urban legend.
The Batman Below isn't complete without an evil Robin at his side, and while Jevoney is far from evil, he's still a young boy out for revenge. Revenge has a terrible way of twisting people, and a Lovecraftian Batman has an even easier time twisting people. It's likely the Batman Below will prey on Jevoney's desires, twisting him into a corrupted Robin, and, by mangling this citizen of Gotham Above, the Batman Below will become powerful enough to fuse the two cities.
