One week after being benched for the first time this season, Quinten Dormady threw for 250 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the first half of a win Sunday.

Regrouping after being benched for the first time this season during last week’s fourth quarter, San Antonio Brahmas quarterback Quinten Dormady aimed to remain optimistic, stressing that a new game meant a fresh opportunity. He knew his spot on the top of San Antonio’s depth chart was in jeopardy after Kevin Hogan entered and rallied the Brahmas to a win at Houston , but he understood he could silence any speculation by simply playing better and putting more points on the scoreboard.

” Stepping into the Brahmas’ starting quarterback role in Week 4 following an injury to Chase Garbers, Dormady had struggled in his two most recent games before Sunday. He threw for just 79 yards with a touchdown and an interception in an 18-12 loss to the D.C. Defenders, then went 10 of 24 for 142 yards with a pick last week against Houston. But Dormady flipped the tone from his first attempt Sunday, delivering the Brahmas’ longest pass play of the season with a 52-yard touchdown.
