Australian fighter Quillan Salkilld makes a stunning UFC debut with a record-breaking knockout victory in Sydney.

The opening fight of UFC 312 in Sydney delivered a debut to remember for Australia's Quillan Salkilld . The early preliminary card commenced with a lightweight bout between Salkilld and India's Anshul Jubli , a clash between two fighters boasting identical 7-1 records. As the action unfolded, it didn't take long for spectators to discern who held the upper hand.

After a few tentative range-finding kicks and a solitary jab, Salkilld closed the distance and unleashed a devastating straight right that sent Jubli crashing to the canvas. The sheer force of the shot, and the manner in which Jubli crumpled to the mat, prompted the referee to immediately intervene and halt the fight after a mere 19 seconds. Despite the referee's intervention, a still-disoriented Jubli attempted to grab one of Salkilld's legs in an effort to drag the Australian to the mat. However, after the referee separated the fighters and Jubli regained full consciousness, his confusion morphed into frustration as he insisted that he was unharmed and the fight should have continued. Yet, considering the way Jubli collapsed, the stoppage seemed undeniably justified. Salkilld celebrated his victory by flamboyantly lighting an imaginary cigar. This emphatic win marked a dream debut for Salkilld, who also claimed the second-fastest lightweight knockout for a UFC debutant. His 19-second finish trails only Terrance McKinney's record of seven seconds set during his UFC debut against Matt Frevola at UFC 263. Following his resounding victory, the 25-year-old Perth native and Dana White's Contender Series graduate admitted he was at a loss for words after his spectacular performance. 'I've no words for it. The perfect ending to my debut in Sydney,' Salkilld told UFC color commentator and former two-division champion Daniel Cormier. 'I knew he'd lead with his lead hand, and his lead hand is always away from his face, so going past that with the right hand was always going to land.' (It was a) dream come true. The only thing that could make it better is an extra $50,000 in the bank for a one-punch knockout!

UFC Fighter Bryce Mitchell Faces Backlash for Praising HitlerUFC Fighter Bryce Mitchell Faces Backlash for Praising HitlerBryce Mitchell, a UFC fighter, has sparked controversy after praising Adolf Hitler on his podcast, claiming he was a 'good guy' based on his own research.
