Residents of Seafield Road in Blackpool are shocked by recent and past crimes, including a recent murder and a serial killer case from almost 30 years ago.
Yards from the seafront in Blackpool lies Seafield Road , a quiet and respectable residential street. Residents say it is a peaceful community where neighbours chat and nod as they pass in the street. Last week, however, William Wilkinson, 65, was jailed for life for a crime which rocked the community. In September last year, he bludgeoned his neighbour Eddie Forrester to death, then dismembered his body and dumped body parts across Lancashire and Cumbria in a bid to evade justice.
When we visited the area earlier this week, residents were keen to talk about the chilling crime, committed by Wilkinson, who lived downstairs from Eddie at number 14. But there was another shocking incident, almost 30 years ago, which lives on in the memories of the residents of Seafield Road.
