played a number of shows this year without drummer Frankie Banali, and the rocker took to social media on Monday to share some unfortunate news.
Banali revealed that since April, he has been battling stage four pancreatic cancer. "The original prognosis was very scary. I had quite a battle on my hands and it took a lot, but I am thankful to say that after several rounds of chemo and other treatments I am on the mend," he wrote via podcaster Mitch Lafon's Facebook page. "The road ahead is not going to be easy but cancer has met its match and I plan to continue fighting.
He added that he's "feeling much better and stronger now," and intends to play the band's upcoming Oct. 26 concert at Whiskey A Go Go in Los Angeles. See his full statement below.
