Meteorologist Abby Acone provides a weather forecast for the Seattle area, highlighting dry conditions throughout the week with a chance of light showers on Sunday. Morning clouds are expected to give way to afternoon sunshine, and fog may develop, especially in the mornings.
For those of you craving quiet and dry weather , you'll love our forecast. If you're hoping for winter weather in the mountains for skiing and snowboarding, I have bad news: we're not forecasting any big snowstorms in the high country for at least the next week. Highs on Saturday afternoon will reach the mid to upper 40s. You can plan on cloudy skies. Earlier Saturday, a weakening convergence zone produced showers in Snohomish County. Drier weather is expected in most other places today.
There might be a light shower on Sunday, but most backyards will be shower-free. Sunday through Thursday, we'll see a daily trend of morning clouds followed by afternoon sunshine. Some mornings this week could be foggy. As temperatures plunge to the 30s in many places, we can't rule out the issue of freezing fog at times this week. Should this develop, be extremely careful driving on bridges and overpasses: those are the first to freeze. Black ice can be a big danger with freezing fog. Dry weather persists into Friday. We've been closely watching the latest regarding the fires burning in Los Angeles County. Head here for continuing coverage. Take good care, Meteorologist Abby Acone,
