A VIRAL post on a local community Facebook group in Melaka claims that a stretch of road in Cheng is allegedly haunted.
According to comments on the post, the stretch of road is allegedly one of the most haunted in Melaka and has seen a slew of mysterious incidents over the years.
Social media users also shared their own eerie experiences driving along the stretch, which is a shortcut to Pulau Gadong.VERDICT:The Melaka government says it is aware of the claims of supernatural activity along the road in Bertam Malim but says these claims are unfounded. State Works, Infrastructure, Public Amenities and Transport chairman Datuk Hameed Mytheen Kunju Basheer dismissed the claims as mere superstition.
"No, the road is not haunted and there is no such thing as ghosts prowling the stretch or reports of paranormal or supernatural activity there," he said.Talk of hauntings along the stretch has long been going around among locals and the topic has gone viral several times before on social media platforms.
