While Halsey has always had an aptitude for emotionally resonant songwriting, they managed to put something different in “The End.” On this stripped back acoustic single, Halsey lets the pain pour out of her, as her voices rises and falls with confessions about “poison in my blood” or that “once my God destroys the flesh, then there’s the flood.
