Fire bans were in place across most of the state as hot, dry, and windy weather created tinderbox conditions andThe Bureau of Meteorology predicted Julia Creek in the north west would see one of the hottest days in the state, reaching 43C on Wednesday.Further south in Emerald, temperatures are expected to hit 37C while Charleville and Roma are bracing for 40C.
