Queensland Premier David Crisafulli has publicly requested legendary Australian band Powderfinger to reunite and perform at the opening ceremony of the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.
Queensland Premier David Crisafulli has begged iconic Queensland band Powderfinger to come out of retirement to take centre stage for the opening ceremony of the Brisbane 2032 Olympics . The band, who formed in Brisbane in 1989, are one of the country’s most successful acts, with chart-topping hits including My Happiness and These Days, both of which ranked number one on separate Triple J Hottest 100 countdowns earlier this century.
“JC and Bernard, if you’re watching, one more time, let’s get the band back together!” During the wide-ranging interview, Crisafulli also spoke about his “adult crime, adult time” bill, which he plans to introduce into the Queensland Parliament later this week. “We said that ‘adult crime, adult time’ would be law by Christmas. That bill will be tabled in Parliament on Thursday and it will pass in the second sitting — it’s that important,” he said.
