Queensland police have confirmed a new search for the 27-year-old started in the Noccundra area, in south-west Queensland, last week.
A police search for missing Kimberley man Jeremiah "Jayo" Rivers, who has not been seen since 2021, recommenced in Queensland last week.Mr Rivers' family are desperate for answers with a coronial inquest held in Brisbane last year.
"As the matter is currently the subject of a coronial inquest, it would be inappropriate for any further comment to be provided at this time," the spokesperson said. Mr Rivers was last seen about 20 kilometres from that community on October 18, 2021, near Wippo Creek. In the months that followed, authorities conducted an extensive land, air and water search while his heartbroken family, from the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, combed the surrounding landscape for months.
In November 2023, a coronial inquest in Queensland examined the case, in particular to see whether foul play had occurred. No charges have been laid as a result of the 27-year-old's disappearance and his companions strenuously denied any wrongdoing during the inquest.
