King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark have continued a nationwide tour across their Scandinavian Kingdom with an official event at Fredensborg Castle on the island of Zealand.

“In Fredensborg this evening, a festive full stop was put to a day rich in tradition,” the palace announced via the official royal Danish Instagram account. The regal portrait was released to the world’s media earlier this week but quickly sparked online speculation the image had been edited in the same way as a controversial “manipulated” photo of Princess Catherine which was killed by major photo agencies.The speculation prompted the Danish palace to issue a rare comment emphatically denying the image had been edited.
