Queen heartbreak as monarch’s ‘favourite horse’ died exposed
The monarch, 94, has been pictured riding a pony at Windsor Castle in her first public appearance since lockdown began. The, who normally has a busy schedule of engagements, has been shielding at Windsor, said to be her favourite royal residence. Her Majesty, who is a great horse-lover, was riding a 14-year-old Fell Pony called Balmoral Fern in the photograph released today.However, horses generally only live around 25-30 years, so in her lifetime she has seen numerous horses grow old and die.
