Netflix's controversial docu-series Queen Cleopatra leaves out five critical aspects of the real history of Cleopatra’s reign in ancient Egypt.
Netflix's Queen Cleopatra has become somewhat controversial for its interpretation of historical events. Queen Cleopatra uses a combination of dramatized reenactments and interviews with experts to tell the story of Cleopatra's life and rule. This docu-series seems to have trouble reconciling the realties of the world more than 2000 years ago with modern ideas of virtue, morality, and social structure that simply did not exist at this point in history.

Still, Cleopatra's focus was on consolidating her rule and feeding the people. She also had a strong effect on the economy because of the trade she facilitated with Rome and Roman provinces, but none of that involved planning military strategy.
