Residents of Quebec House apartments in Washington, D.C. are facing a persistent rat infestation that has lasted for months. The foul odor, sightings of rats in common areas, and the closure of amenities due to the issue have caused widespread concern. Management acknowledges the problem and states they are working with pest control companies to resolve it, but residents remain frustrated by the lack of progress and safety concerns.
For at least 4 months now, tenants of QH apartments have been dealing with the most foul smell ever. It’s like rat sh!t meets a dead animal And it has leaked into the elevator, stairwell, laundry room, gym, etc. Management doesn’t care. They think cleaning at 2am is suffice and yet we’ve all continued to suffer from the smell. Some residents have even seen rats running around the gym and in the ceilings above. It’s a safety hazard for many reasons.
They wont use the word “rats” in the management’s emails but they did close the laundry facility for a week and the gym and amenities until further notice as I imagine they’ll have to get inside the walls. It’s a mess!!” “Residents at Quebec House apartments in the Northwest DC neighborhood of Cleveland Park turned to WUSA9 after they said they’ve been dealing with a rat infestation for the last 3 months.
Jim Barritt, a long-time resident believes the rats are coming from a nearby hill that sits across the complex and behind a local grocery store.”“Quebec House is keenly aware of the rodent situation in the building and has been acting diligently and expeditiously to eradicate the problem. Rodents are a Washington DC wide problem. Notwithstanding the utmost care that our maintenance team has provided at Quebec House, we too are now plagued by this situation.
