Lots of Leeds people still haven’t got their grant 💷
Around 80,000 households across Leeds eligible for the £150 energy bill grant have yet to receive it.
The council’s chief financial officer, Victoria Bradshaw, said in response that everyone entitled to the £150 would eventually receive it in some form. Ms Bradshaw said that some applications for the grant had been flagged up as potentially fraudulent, which required extra checks. She explained that council staff had had to work extra shifts and well over their normal working hours to process the money.
