Johnson senior quarterback Ty Hawkins, who’s committed to TCU, is enrolling at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., later this month.
After starting as quarterback the past two seasons at Johnson , rising senior Ty Hawkins is leaving the Jaguars to attend IMG Academy. The private prep school in Florida has a national reputation for producing elite college prospects. Hawkins will play on IMG's national football team. “I feel like the opportunity at IMG is just something I can't pass up,” Hawkins said. “I’ve honestly been wanting to go and play there since I was younger.
He has been playing in many 7-on-7 tournaments throughout the summer with top coaches and players. “The 7-on-7 tournaments I've been playing with, and the Elite 11, and also just the connections I've made have helped get me out there and get this opportunity for me,” Hawkins said. But Hawkins is not the first San Antonio quarterback to transfer to IMG. Former Reagan and Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond transferred to IMG before his senior season.
