Qatar Airways passengers departing Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport in Lebanon are now prohibited from carrying pagers or walkie-talkies, the airline announced via social media Thursday.was due to a directive from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Lebanon, the airline wrote. It follows the explosion of communication devices used by Hezbollah members in Lebanon on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
“The ban applies to both checked and carry-on luggage, as well as cargo, and will be enforced until further notice,” Qatar Airways wrote via X. Thousands were wounded and at least 12 killed as a result of Tuesday's attack, during which pagers were detonated. At least 20 were killed Wednesday when walkie-talkies of Hezbollah members blew up.On Thursday, the Israeli military said it began striking Hezbollah “targets” in Lebanon to degrade the group’s infrastructure and “terrorist capabilities.”The Biden-Harris administration on Wednesday had little to say in response to the attacks.
