The boss of Qantas has made a huge call on its upcoming ultra-long haul flights amid the airline adding Paris to its list of non-stop flights to Europe from Perth . Qantas CEO Vanessa Hudson has expressed her confidence the airline's non-stop flights from the east coast to London and New York will be a success as she hailed the flying kangaroo's return to Paris after two decades as it looks to"restore trust" with customers.
The airline has ordered 12 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft with an extra fuel tank to operate the marathon flights which will be more than 20-hours long and feature new first, business, premium economy and economy cabins and a wellbeing zone. "But the thing that gives us the most confidence that these flights will be successful is what we're seeing with Perth-London, Perth-Rome - our customers say 'I want to fly direct'.
"We're seeing the demand, we're seeing customers say how much they love it. Taking that to the east coast where the market is bigger... we absolutely are confident that our customers are going to really demand, and see this as something that they value."
