CEBU CITY, Philippines — Beginning July 16, 2020, public utility buses, mini buses, modern jeepneys, and UV Express (vans-for-hire) will no longer be allowed to operate as shuttle services for

This, as the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in Central Visayas will already deploy these public utility vehicles to fixed routes within areas under general community quarantine and modified GCQ.

On Wednesday, July 15, Montealto issued a Memorandum Circular directing the said PUV types to already cease operating as shuttle services.According to the MC, the modern jeepney units will be allowed to ply their route specified in their Certificate of Public Convenience and their special permit that will be issued by the LTFRB.

If Cebu City, which is under ECQ, will be downgraded to GCQ, Montealto said the 210 buses that were previously deployed to ply the tri-city will already be allowed to enter and ply Cebu City again.
