President Putin said he has instructed the military to analyze 'the level of threat' posed by the actions of the U.S. on Russia
MOSCOW—President Vladimir Putin ordered Russia’s military to prepare a like-for-like response to a recent U.S. missile test, escalating tensions between Moscow and Washington and raising the prospect of a new arms race between the two Cold War foes.
Speaking at a meeting of his security council on Friday, Mr. Putin said he has instructed the military to analyze “the level of threat posed by the aforementioned actions of the U.S. for our country and take comprehensive measures to prepare a symmetrical response.”
