Purdue University freshman quarterback Brady Allen announced Monday that he is entering the transfer portal on Twitter.

Allen, the 2021 IndyStar Mr. Football from Gibson Southern High School, was a four-star quarterback and expected to be a candidate as Purdue's starter next season before coach Jeff Brohm left to takeover at Louisville. Allen completed 1-of-3 passes for 8 yards this season with senior Austin Burton serving as the primary backup to Aidan O'Connell.
The departure of Allen, a 6-5, 205-pounder, currently leaves two scholarship quarterbacks on Purdue's spring roster: Junior Michael Alaimo and incoming freshman Ryan Browne. The Boilermakers are expected to pursue a quarterback in the transfer portal under new coach Ryan Walters and offensive coordinator Graham Harrell."Dear Purdue fans, teammates, coaches, and staff.
