Purdue's coach addressed Michigan's sign-stealing scandal after getting blown out by the Wolverines.
ANN ARBOR – Purdue football head coach Ryan Walters called out Michigan for its alleged sign-stealing operation earlier this week. On Saturday night, his team was mauled by Michigan, 41-13, at Michigan Stadium.
What happened on Saturday is that Michigan improved to 9-0 overall and 5-0 in the Big Ten. The Wolverines have won by an average of 34 points per game. Their closest margin so far? Twenty-four points. Purdue quarterback Hudson Card echoed his coach and noted it is “pretty common” to change signals regularly. “It happens regardless of the situation,” he said.
Even so, Michigan scored touchdowns on its first two drives and led 20-0 early in the second quarter. The next morning, he made breakfast and a cup of coffee before turning on ESPN’s SportsCenter and seeing his comments on the ticker. That surprised him.
