“We're still at the beginning stages of this for Baby Bunny,“ her foster mom told Newsweek.

An 11-week-old disabled Chow Chow's future hangs in the balance after she was handed into the shelter suffering with a serious congenital condition.“We need your prayers for this sweet baby…" the rescue wrote.

“This 11‑week‑oldIn a post shared on social media, the rescue said that after taking Bunny to the veterinarian, the organization learned that her back legs are positioned backwards due to a congenital issue and cannot be rehabilitated to function normally. The rescue explained that it is proceeding cautiously and evaluating Bunny’s situation “one step at a time.” While there is a possibility she could be a candidate for a wheelchair in the future, they stressed that more immediate questions must first be answered, including whether she is able to relieve herself independently and whether she can ultimately have a good quality of life.In the post, the organization reassured followers that Bunny’s wellbeing remains the priority, writing that “she is safe” and “she is loved,” and emphasizing that they will “do everything we can to make the best decisions for her.” The rescue also asked the public to keep Bunny in their thoughts as they navigate next steps and promised to provide updates. In a subsequent update, Chow Chow Rescue of Central New York shared encouraging news after Bunny spent time outdoors. “It was a perfect day for Baby Bunny to be outside getting some fresh air and sunshine,” the rescue wrote, reporting that she is eating and drinking and appears able to relieve herself. They also described her demeanor as joyful and playful, noting that she is “a happy, bouncy silly baby girl” who does not seem to realize she is any different from other puppies who use all four limbs. Behind the scenes, the organization said it is consulting with specialists and researching long‑term solutions that could help Bunny thrive. The rescue said it is currently exploring medical options to ensure Bunny can have a good quality of life and researching whether a mobility cart or could be a feasible option for her in the future. In the meantime, they encouraged followers to enjoy watching Bunny’s playful moments as decisions continue to be made.:"She is with me to care for her and take her to any medical appointments, do rehab, and help find the best options to try to give her the best long-term quality of life, and if that can be done, she will ultimately be available for adoption. Since she just got here over the weekend, we're still at the beginning stages of this for Baby Bunny. "Bunny is my only foster pup at this time to be sure I'm able to devote the proper time and care for her, since she is a bit more labor intensive." The comment section filled with messages of encouragement for both Bunny and the rescue caring for her. “i'm so happy everything went well in surgery and she can relieve herself. i see a wonderful life in her future. thank you, guys, for providing her this well-deserved second chance. she's a fighter who loves life! good for Baby Bunny—i love her!” wrote Satya Ferreira.“She is so cute!!!” wrote Celeste Mcleod, while Laura Hand commented, “She looks happy!” “Bunny is a precious little girl!!” added Stephen Catholdi, and Krista Carter echoed the sentiment, writing, “She is so adorable and looks so happy.” Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share?
