What to know as Puerto Rico reopens for tourism on Wednesday

... [+]Through July 22 there is a curfew on the island is in effect from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, except for emergencies. Residents and visitors are required to wear face masks when in public.For now, all commercial flights have been centralized at the island’s main facility, Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan . The smaller Rafael Hernandez Airport in Aguadilla and the Mercedita International Airport in Ponce are slated to reopen within a week .

Most restaurants and bars are open at a 75% capacity. Temperature checks are being performed before entering; those with temperatures over 100.3 will be denied entry. Hotel pools are operating at 75% capacity. Likewise, museums, theaters and spas are open at 75% capacity. Ferry service to the beloved offshore islands of Vieques and Culebra is operating.

Not all hotels on the Island are open yet, but many of the most prominent are, including the famous El San Juan Hotel, Caribe Hilton, Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Beach Resort, while the island’s most luxurious property, Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve just reopened . It is one of just three resorts worldwide on Ritz-Carlton’s highest tier Reserve luxury brand. Like several of the other coastal luxury resorts, it offers on-site golf, wellness, a private beach, even a nature reserve.
