THIS is what nearly 800 pints of beer looks like going down the drain as one pub landlord reveals the personal cost of calling time on trading during the coronavirus lockdown.
The landlord of 26 years told Sun Online: “The lagers are OK for six to eight weeks but traditional ales only last three days once they’re opened before becoming vinegar in the kegs. “We sold at £2 a pint, then £1 a pint - but in the end we were just giving booze to people to take home.By Kevin and his wife Dee draining what was left from the barrels, they could claim tax back on unsold stock. Unopened casks were returned to the brewery.
