Sad news this morning
The PSNI have released a statement after emergency services responded to reports of a person in the River Foyle.A number of specialist rescue appliances along with the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, Foyle Search and Rescue and the PSNI attended the scene near the Craigavon Bridge.
A coastguard helicopter was also dispatched from Sligo to attend the incident, which was reported around 9.30pm on Tuesday.A statement from the PSNI said: "At around 8pm last night, Tuesday January 24, police received a report that a person was in the water, close to Craigavon Bridge in the city. "Police and other emergency services responded and, during the early hours of this morning, Wednesday, 25th January, the body of a man was recovered from the water.Fr more stories from where you live, visit InYourArea.
