PSNI calling for potential witness to incident at Ormeau Embankment to come forward
Police investigating a sex assault at a Belfast music festival have made a renewed appeal for witnesses.
Police say the assault is “reported to have occurred on the riverside of the Ormeau Embankment, close to Ormeau Road, on Saturday 10th June 2023 following a music concert”.A spokesperson added: “Between 11.15pm and 11.45pm, a teenage girl was approached by an unknown man who pushed her against the railings on the embankment. The man held her by force and began to touch her inappropriately, before she was able to make off from the scene.
Constable Ashe added: “This sexual offence has had a devastating impact on the victim. I believe this witness may have vital information which could assist with our ongoing investigation. If you believe this may be you, please make contact with us by calling 101 and quoting reference 699 of 11/06/23.”
