'We cannot understand how this could have happened'
Police are investigating 171 reports of £600 energy vouchers being stolen and redeemed without the knowledge of the household they were sent to.
Cheryl Given's mother, a pensioner who lives at home, was one of the people who reported the theft to police with Cheryl saying she does not understand how it could have happened. "We cannot understand how this could have happened because we understood that you had to provide ID and proof of address in order to get the money from the voucher, and only my mum should have been able to do this.
