Police are seeking witnesses who may have seen a man dressed in a black hooded jumper carrying a handgun

The force made an appeal for information after the two shots were heard in the Gartan Square area just after 10pm.

“The suspect was wearing a black-hooded jumper and is believed to be aged between his late 30s and early 40s.“At this stage we believe the gun was fired by the suspect - though we have received no reports of any injuries. “We are especially keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV, dash-cam or mobile phone footage of the area during this time.”
