The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena commended the Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit for the arrest of Sergeant Tshepang Magodielo, aged 44.

The accused who is attached to the Rustenburg Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit was arrested on Wednesday, 20 September 2023. Reportedly, Magodielo claimed R12 000.00 on behalf of the informer. The claim was approved and the Sergeant received the money on behalf of the informer in July 2023. However, the said money did not reach the informer.

Consequent to prosecution led investigation by the ACIU, Magodielo was arrested and granted R1 500.00 bail upon appearance in the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 21 September 2023, for theft. She is expected to appear again before the same court on Tuesday, 31 October 2023. The Provincial Commissioner reiterated that all dishonest employees who continue to tarnish the image of the South African Police Service, will be dealt with accordingly.
