Provincial and federal agriculture ministers aimed to finalize an agriculture policy framework that will be the backbone for five years.
Cameron Goff, who farms near Hanley south of Saskatoon, was advocating for proposals from the Farmers for Climate Solutions to be included in the plan.
Goff is arguing that Saskatchewan, as an agricultural leader, should be pushing to reduce its use of fertilizer. “A funding increase is also particularly important as producers deal with inflation and are called on to produce more with less to address environmental concerns and help ensure global food security.”
