Massachusetts residents organized a demonstration Sunday over recent controversial comments made by Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., about transgender issues.
“Please join us in a celebration of the trans and queer community,” Davis wrote. “Our aim for this event is to communicate loud and clear to that we love and stand in solidarity with the trans community on the north shore. This is a time where we need local leaders to stand with us and reaffirm their commitment to the LGBT+ community.
A spokesperson for Rep. Moulton’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The National News Desk Monday.to the Democratic Party in the wake of the presidential election, which saw Democrats decisively defeated in several key races. He suggested the party's current approach to transgender issues may be harming its ability to reach more Americans.
"I am also a strong supporter of the civil rights of all Americans, including transgender rights,” he added. “I will fight, as I always have, for the rights and safety of all citizens.”
