The man charged with attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump at a golf course in West Palm Beach may get his court date removed.

The court document says that over the past two weeks, the United States government has "worked diligently since September 15" to investigate the assassination attempt. The document continues, that the U.S. has interviewed hundreds of witnesses. It's also uncovered hundreds of items, which include multiple electronic devices, through 13 search warrants out of Florida, North Carolina and Hawaii.
"Due to the nature of this prosecution, the investigation of this case is still ongoing" the court document reads.The trial date was set by Judge Aileen Cannon.charges of attempted assassination, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and assaulting a federal officer.
On Sept. 15 Trump was playing an unscheduled game of golf at the Trump International Golf Club when a U..S. Secret Service Agent spotted a barrel of a rifle poking out from the trees and opened fire. Authorities allege that Routh waited on the golf course for 12 hours.
