Property developer issues update on investigation after high rise tower block worker left in hospital
North west property developer Salboy has said there was "no explosion" at a high-rise tower building site after a construction worker was taken injured to hospital.
The incident happened at the Viadux Tower on Albion Street off Whitworth Street, a planned 40 storey-high tower above Castlefield Locks next to the existing Axis Tower which is currently being built and is set for completion by the property developer next year. The worker involved suffered a minor impact injury to their calf and was released from hospital later on Tuesday. The building's integrity, said Salboy and DOMIS, was unaffected and work on site has resumed fully.
"Our preliminary investigation has revealed that the incident occurred whilst attempting to unblock a pipe connected to a concrete pump. We can confirm that there was no explosion.
