Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin ‘Benhur’ Abalos, Jr. has directed all local government units to promote activities that foster honesty and time consciousness in a bid to maximize public service. ManilaBulletin

“All LGUs are mandated to organize programs that will raise awareness of time consciousness and honesty as twin values that are essential in bringing about national progress and development,” said Abalos in his order.

The order is part of the observance in June of Time Consciousness and Honesty Month under the We Advocate Time Consciousness and Honesty , a program that was ushered in by the issuance of Presidential Proclamation No. 1782 on May 21, 2009. Junior Chamber International Senator Cesar S. Ochoa, who leads the project, said Project WATCH seeks to bring back honor, dignity and respect for the Philippines and Filipinos through activities that promote punctuality and honesty.

The project is in cooperation with JCI Senate Philippines, the Department of Education, Commission on Higher Eduction, Technical Education and Skills Education Authority, Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities, Philippine Association of Private Schools, Colleges, and Universities , Private Schools Athletic Association and the Office of the Presidential Assistant for Education.
