A man from Liverpool traded in his "promising" Liverpool FC career for drugs after being jailed for 32 months after being involved with heroin and cocaine.
After "briefly losing sight" of the Ford Kuga, they found it parked nearby with only Smith inside. He continued to appear "very nervous" with PCs then discovering that he was in possession of three mobile phones which were "ringing constantly". His home on Carr Lane in Norris Green was then raided. Smith has a total of 13 previous convictions for 23 offences, although none in relation to the supply of drugs.
In 2015, he faced time behind bars again after bottling a man and causing him horrific facial injuries. After the attack, the 21-year-old victim was left with a broken nose, left cheekbone and eye socket. He also lost seven teeth.
