New York Yankees infielder Gleyber Torres is a free agent, and one MLB writer predicts he will sign with an NL West contender rather than the Yankees,
The New York Yankees are deep into the Juan Soto sweepstakes right now. They're so invested in Soto that all the other free agents aren't gaining very much attention at all. This includes their free agent second baseman, Gleyber Torres, who Spotrac projects to sign a three-year, $20 million contract this winter. New York has been connected to a few different Torres replacements, including the idea of adding a third baseman and moving Jazz Chisholm Jr. over to second base.
Villano suggests Torres will sign with the San Francisco Giants as a part of their plan to dethrone the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West.'The Giants are looking to make moves this offseason, and Torres will be one of them. They have a need at second base, and they could sorely use more offensive help in that division,' Villano wrote.
