The National Registration Department has been constantly updating security features on MyKads and tightening approval for these identification documents.
“Further investigation and action will be taken by the police on fake MyKad crimes,” he said in a statement.“The pictures were related to a MyKad counterfeiting case in Penang in 2019. However, no new information on fake Mykad has come up. He said a few organisations and individuals had urged the government to change the existing MyKad to a new version.
