pretty much sums it up: “The busiest guy you have ever met that doesn’t have a job. Chasing Gwen Jorgensen and Stanley.” Lemieux has been the sole member of Jorgensen’s pit crew since her days as a triathlete.
After winning the 2016 Olympic gold in triathlon, Jorgensen and Lemieux had a baby, Stanley, and she transitioned to running professionally full-time for the Bowerman Track Club. But even though she’s only focused on one sport now, Lemieux still has his hands full with cooking, cleaning, caring for Stanley, and providing a little comic relief for Jorgensen., spending time with her husband and baby helped tremendously in coping with the injury.
“He [Stanley] doesn’t care that I’m injured,” she said. “He has no idea what’s going on. So just being able to go and play with him and spend some time with him was a huge thing that I relied on.”Hailey first got hooked on running news as an intern with Running Times, and now she reports on elite runners and cyclists, feel-good stories, and training pieces for Runner's World and Bicycling magazines.
