TACLOBAN CITY – The Police Regional Office-8 (Eastern Visayas) said they are ready for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections in October during the launching of simultaneous checkpoints in the region on Monday, August 28.
POLICE Brig. Gen. Vincent Calonaga, PRO-8 director, and Comelec-8 chief Jose ‘Nick’ Mendros launch the region-wide simultaneous checkpoints in Eastern Visayas for the barangay elections in October on Monday, August 28.
"All permits to carry firearms outside of residence are considered canceled except for those who have a certificate of authorization from the Comelec," Calonaga said. "Motorists should not be afraid because we are only ensuring the people's safety during this election period," Calonaga said.
