Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas celebrated a “perfect Diwaloween,” Chopra wrote in an Instagram post Friday. This year, the start of Diwali — which celebrates good over evil and light over darkness by some South Asian religions — fell on the same day as Halloween. On years when the two holidays collide, which hasn't happened since 2016, many in the South Asian diaspora put them together for 'Diwaloween.
The Instagram post features Chopra Jonas and Jonas in traditional Indian garments, including a sari and a kurta, respectively. The post contains a photo of a card signed by Chopra Jonas, a 42-year-old actor from India, which reads, “Diwali reminds us that light will always conquer darkness, and good will always prevail over evil.” Also featured in the post is a photo of a decorative cobweb and spider.
