Private sector can emulate civil service benefits, says workers association
National Association of Skilled Workers secretary-general Mohammad Rizan Hassan says the private sector looks at how the government addresses matters involving civil servants before taking similar measures within its own organisations. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, May 3, 2023.
“Recently, the issue of minimum wage has been raised quite a lot, and often in the private sector, employers say the government needs to start first in implementing the minimum wage. In the meantime, Rizan said workers needed to look at the importance of ‘up-skilling’ and ‘re-skilling’, in addition to cultivating lifelong learning so that the element of productivity becomes a lifestyle and culture which contributes to the national economy.
