Following comments by Shonda Rhimes, Private Practice star Kate Walsh weighs in on a potential revival: 'That cast and I — we’re all very close...And I think everybody would be thrilled to do something in that area. [Even if it’s] for a limited thing.'

Kate Walsh weighs in on the future of Private Practice after the comments made by series creator Shonda Rhimes. Although the Grey's Anatomy spinoff has been off the air since 2013, concluding after a good run that began in 2007 and stretched for six seasons, Private Practice found itself back in the headlines when Rhimes mentioned in an interview that she'd be interested in revisiting the spinoff.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In an interview with Bustle, Walsh addressed the Private Practice remarks made by Rhimes. The actor, who can also be seen in Emily in Paris season 3, said that she's still close with the spinoff's cast and that they'd be happy to return for some sort of revival. She went on to make clear that there aren't any official reboot plans but voiced her support for the possibility.

I was like, oh! I feel like Shonda kind of threw down her hanky a little bit. I’m like, 'are we going to pick it up?' That cast and I — we’re all very close. We all have our little WhatsApp chain. And I think everybody would be thrilled to do something in that area. [Even if it’s] for a limited thing. There’s nothing that has been planned. We just love working together. And I was very grateful to have had that experience.

Separate and apart from her connections on Grey's, Addison made a life for herself on Private Practice. She marries Jake in the final episode of the spinoff, and a revival would allow viewers a fuller opportunity to check in on the pair. It'd also likely bring the focus back to characters like Naomi, Cooper, Charlotte, Sam, and Violet, all of whom were crucial to the medical drama and left their portrayals on varying degrees of an open-ended note.

Still, as Walsh makes sure to mention herself, nothing is confirmed as far as the future of Private Practice and, for now, Addison is helping out on the original series, recurring in season 19. But as ABC looks to carry on the legacy of Grey's Anatomy, another spinoff or reboot wouldn't be out of the question. If anything, it sounds like the cast and creator would all be happy to return to the Los Angeles setting one more time.
