Priti Patel hails NHS staff, police and firefighters as 'glue that holds Britain together'
She said that while the battle against Covid-19 will be fought in hospital wards, other key front line services have a vital role to play.
Members of the Armed Forces have been called in to deliver food and medical supplies to 1.5 million elderly and vulnerable people. Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick said: “Public safety and making sure those most at risk from the virus continue to get the support they need throughout this period is the Government’s top priority.
